HayDrop automatically releases one portion of hay at the time you choose. This means shorter fasting periods in the box, which supports digestion and helps reduce the risk of stomach ulcers.

The problem with feeding at odd times

When horses go without roughage for a long time, the risk of stomach ulcers increases. The challenge arises when feedings fall at times that are difficult to fit into the daily lives of riders and horse owners.

Our story began during a course at DTU, where the idea for Haydrop emerged. What started as a study project grew into a Danish solution designed, tested and assembled locally that works in the real barn environment.

How does the timer work?

Simply set the time and HayDrop will release the hay at the desired time. Simple, precise and easy to use. Possibility to save 3 feeding times.

How long does the battery last and how is it charged?

Battery life approximately 6 months per charge, depending on usage. Charges via USB-C cable (NOT included)

How much hay can HayDrop hold?

Can hold up to 4 kg of hay - depending on needs.

What types of feed can be used?

Developed for hay and wrap , but can in principle also be used for other types of feed.

What material is HayDrop made of?

Made of plastic and complies with the regulations for temporary storage of feed

Can HayDrop be used outdoors?

Can be used both in the barn and outdoor areas with a covered roof. Operating temperature: -10°C to +45°C

How to install HayDrop?

HayDrop has three metal eyelets along the top for flexible hanging. We recommend purchasing our HayMounts.

How to fill HayDrop?

The metal rail can be used to mount a scale and weigh the amount of feed.

Does HayDrop help with stomach ulcers?

HayDrop does not cure stomach ulcers and we cannot guarantee that your horse will not develop them. However, HayDrop helps you feed closer to your horse's natural eating habits by supporting a more natural eating behavior with smaller portions spread out over a longer period of time which can help prevent and reduce the risk of stomach ulcers.
